Orchid eState  (UPC/API compliance for firearms, ammo, and parts)

eState™ API Endpoint Update

A new API endpoint has been created to permit submission of multiple UPCs per API call.  Whereas previously a shopping cart or sales order containing multiple UPCs required multiple API calls, the new functionality will permit a single API call.  The formatting of the submission and response to and from the new endpoint have changed.  For any companies who wish to change to the new endpoint you can find API documentation in the Support Center by querying “eState API”.

The existing legacy endpoint will remain for the foreseeable future.

Bound Book Search and Export

Both the bound book search and export functions have been upgraded to a ‘multi-thread’ processor environment. This enhancement eliminates the need for the 180-day search default that was being used for bound books in excess of 5 million records. Additionally, the multi-thread processes significantly increases the speed of search and report generation and export. For example, a bound book report of over 1 million records would previously take 10+ minutes and can now be generated in 1 – 2 minutes, or faster.

Customer Account Authentication / Password Management

As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we’ve eliminated plaintext passwords from email communications. Users will now get a secure Set Password or Reset Password link during account creation or when using Forgot Password. Passwords are fully encrypted and are not stored in readable format. Reset links are time-sensitive, enforce password strength requirements, and automatically invalidate existing sessions after a successful reset.

Ability to Edit and Save a Layaway
We’ve improved the Layaway workflow to make it more flexible after a deposit has been taken. Users can now convert a layaway to an invoice, update the item list as needed, and save it back as a layaway without creating deposit discrepancies. The system automatically recalculates totals to ensure accurate reporting. This enhancement gives stores more flexibility while keeping deposits and reporting clean and accurate.

Improved Guns.com Invoice Totals

Guns.com (GDC) invoices have been updated so GDC-specific fees are now included directly in the invoice total. Previously, these fees were listed separately as an accounts receivable balance. This change simplifies invoice reconciliation and improves clarity.

Updated Bill Hicks Integration Contact

We’ve updated the contact information for the Bill Hicks live vendor integration. If you’re interested in establishing this connection, please follow the updated instructions provided within the platform.

A new P-12 dimension option (4.25" x 5.5") is now available in addition to the existing 3" x 3" format, giving you more flexibility in label printing.
