Orchid eBound

4473 Recertification Flexibility

Forms 4473 that are less than 30 days old can now be completed without requiring buyer recertification when the original transfer date was missed. This allows licensees to correct the transfer date and complete the transaction without requiring the customer to return and recertify Section B.

Self-Service Webhooks

Webhook configuration is now available directly within eBound, eliminating the need to contact Orchid Support. Administrators can configure or update webhook endpoints at any time from the API Keys & Webhooks settings for their bound book. Users can navigate to the Create / Modify FFL and Bound Book area, select the Modify option for the relevant bound book, and access API Keys & Webhooks to enter and save a webhook endpoint URL.

FFL Expiration Notifications

FFL expiration reminders have been updated to notify users 10 days before an FFL expires. This provides a more timely reminder while helping reduce unnecessary advance notifications. Additionally, Company Admin-level users can update the FFL number directly into the popup without having to navigate to the Create / Modify FFL screen.

Self-Service ATF Rapid Review

ATF Rapid Review can now be configured directly within eBound. Users can create audits, choose which bound book to review, schedule recurring audits, and specify email recipients for audit reports without assistance from Orchid Support. Users can navigate to the ATF Rapid Review tool by expanding the sandwich menu on the left of the home screen (3 stacked lines to the left of “Orchid eBound Book” title) then select “ATF Rapid Review” which is found directly underneath “ATF Transaction Advisory Program.”

Faster Inventory Searches

Search performance within Orchid Inventory Management has been improved, providing faster results and a more responsive experience when locating inventory records.

SNIT Inventory Validation Alerts

The SNIT inventory tool now provides both audible and visual alerts when a scanned serial number is not part of the current inventory event. Invalid serial numbers are highlighted immediately, helping users identify scanning errors as they occur.

4473 Electronic Storage Enabled by Default

Electronic Form 4473 storage is now enabled by default for all accounts, making the feature immediately available to organizations that choose to use it. Customers are still responsible for complying with ATF Ruling 2022-1, including notifying the ATF and observing the required 60-day waiting period before storing electronic Forms 4473. Clients who do not wish to see the 4473 Storage Light “On” can contact support, but it is not required for use of the system with paper 4473s.

Fraud Prevention & Security

We’ve expanded bot protection and strengthened account security across key customer interaction points. Google reCAPTCHA v3 has been added to account creation, login, and other sensitive actions, providing risk-based verification that runs in the background without adding friction for legitimate users. Additional improvements to bot detection and IP-based attempt limiting further reduce abuse and fraudulent activity while maintaining a smooth customer experience.

Control Vendor Feed Visibility on Your Website

A new option has been added under Online > Define Products > Product Visibility and Availability that lets you control whether live vendor feed products are displayed on your website. This setting is enabled by default but can now be turned off if you prefer to show only your own inventory. This setting was designed for those users who wish to use live price / quantity lookups in the POS without posting vendor-held inventory to their website. This feature is turned on by default and should not impact the online display of vendor-held inventory for existing clients.

Vendor Integrations & Live Data

We’ve improved the underlying architecture that powers vendor connectivity across Orchid POS and eCommerce, moving to a more modern and direct integration framework designed to improve stability, consistency, and scalability of vendor data flows.

These updates strengthen both real-time and scheduled synchronization for pricing, inventory, and product availability across supported vendors, including RSR Group, Lipsey’s, Sports South, Davidson’s and Bill Hicks.

These integrations support automated website order fulfillment, real-time price and quantity validation at checkout, and automated purchase order creation based on sales activity.

If you’re interested in enabling or optimizing live vendor feeds, please contact Support for assistance with vendor integrations.

Coupons & Promotions

Category-based promotions have been refined across both POS and eCommerce to ensure more consistent and predictable discount behavior. Coupons now correctly apply only to eligible items within defined categories, aligning expected discounts with actual results. Percentage-based discount calculations have also been improved, and clearer messaging is now displayed when a cart contains no eligible items for a promotion. These updates help reduce confusion at checkout and ensure promotions are applied as intended.

Dropshipping & Fulfillment Flexibility

Dropshipping workflows have been enhanced to better support real-world fulfillment scenarios. Sales orders and layaways containing items from multiple vendors can now be processed successfully, even when vendors ship at different times. Orchid POS now tracks each vendor's fulfillment independently, improving the handling of partial shipments, staged deliveries, and mixed fulfillment orders while maintaining accurate order status throughout the fulfillment process. To use this feature, continue creating sales orders and layaways as you normally would. When an order includes dropship items from multiple vendors, each vendor's shipment can now be processed independently as it is fulfilled. Orchid POS automatically tracks fulfillment progress until the order is complete.

GunBroker & Marketplace Ordering
GunBroker orders placed for In-Store Pickup now display as In-Store Pickup on the POS invoice instead of showing the store's FFL information. This makes it easy to distinguish pickup orders from shipped orders at a glance, helping staff identify the correct fulfillment method without confusion.
